So there you have it. My road map, I mean collision, I mean…who knows. Above is a picture of my story. I began writing Headaches of a Holy Handmaiden: What The Church Didn’t Tell Me…Recovering After Divorce to serve as a diary blog during my divorce recovery. In the midst of rebuilding after my emotional traumatic experience I am truly beginning to see that pain is not necessarily specific or unique to one individual event. What is more important than my post salvation wound is the ability to suit up every day, picking up this script, and reading my lines to finish this story. And if again the scenes are not what I anticipated and I learn through stubbornness that it is still not about me, will I have the knowledge, courage, and strength from what I’ve endured thus far to try God at His word…

He is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? (Numbers 23:19)

I Met A Twitter Celebrity *The Nomadic Narratives*

No sooner could I turn the last page of the Alchemist, I hear over the intercom, “Southwest Airlines welcomes you to San Francisco.”

Sure success is relative.

Anyone can be famous.

And anyone can be a social media celeb.

I met a Twitter celebrity.

As I wait in line he asks what book I’m reading.

I respond “The Sacred Romance.”

After telling him the premise of the book, he tells me that he has written something similar.  He shows me a picture of the book, I smile and say “I know you!”

As he generously shares his journey over the last 2 years, I stand in line wishing it is Black Friday and if I’m lucky I might get another hour to wait.  I’m a sponge.  Learning is my life and all I can think about is how to politely maximize this moment with the most down to earth Twitter celebrity.

He asked me why I wanted to live in San Francisco.  After offering the speech a dozen times, I was polished and precise.  I knew exactly what I wanted out of the experience.  He simply smiled and said I sounded just like him.

It is almost my turn in line and I know the conversation is coming to a close.  Searching for the last bit of juice I might be able to squeeze out of the bronze lemon, I ask, “what would you recommend I do while in San Francisco.”

He replied “read the Alchemist.

Lesson Learned:

No one can walk your journey for you.  You will have encounters and direction along the way, but the footprints you find on your journey will always match your own.
